Fountain Creek Nature Center, 320 Pepper Grass Lane, Fountain, CO 80817 719-520-6745; www.elpasocountynaturecenters.com Nature Adventures: Bugs for Lunch Thursday, June 2 and Friday, June 3, 9:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. Children ages 3-6, with an adult, will enjoy puppet shows or stories, crafts, hands-on activities, and discovery time on the trail. $3 per person including siblings 2 and over and adults. Prepaid registration required. Jr. Camp Aide Training Thursday, June 2, 6:00-8:00 p.m. Teens 14 years and older who have completed a written application, been interviewed and selected, may attend this special training to prepare them for nature camp duties. Nature Camp: Colorado Endangered Animals (1st-5th grades) Monday – Friday, June 6 – June 10, 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Learn about the animals that have been rare in Colorado and how we can be habitat heroes to help them come back! $140/member, $150/nonmember. Prepaid registration required. Nature Camp at Fox Run Regional Park: Colorado Endangered Animals (1st-5th grades) Monday – Friday, June 13 – 17, 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Learn about the animals that have been rare in Colorado and how we can be habitat heroes to help them come back! $100/member, $110/nonmember. Prepaid registration required. 2s & 3s Outdoors: Rollie Pollie Roundup Thursday, June 23 and Friday, June 24, 9:00 a.m. – 10:15 a.m. Explore nature with your 2 or 3 year-old through interactive activities, a story, and a short hike. $3 per person including siblings 2 and over and adults. Prepaid registration required. Evening Bat Quest Saturday, June 25, 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. The wetlands and meadows provide a bug buffet and open skies for attracting and viewing bats. While we wait for the sun to go down, learn about bats with a quick class, craft, and fun activities. Geared towards all ages! $5/nonmember, $4/member. Prepaid registration required. Nature Camp: Prehistoric Colorado (1st-5th grades) Monday – Friday, June 27 – July 1, 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Discover your inner paleontologist as we learn about the dinosaurs and other wild creatures that roamed Colorado millions of years ago! $140/member, $150/nonmember.
