CHESTER COUNTY— With one week left to go until the Pennsylvania primary, Chester County entrepreneur Steve Fanelli has raised nearly $1 million in campaign contributions in the Republican primary for 6th Congressional District, according to the federal Election Commission report of campaign finances as of April 27. Fanelli, 60, of West Chester, raised the most money of the four candidates running in the primary to unseat Democrat Chrissy Houlahan to represent all of Chester County and southeastern Berks County. The total raised by Fanelli includes a $645,000 loan by him to his campaign. His opponent, Ron Vogel, lent his own campaign $250,000. Fanelli spent $336,425 of the funds raised, the highest amount of the four candidates. New information will not be posted on the federal website until after the primary election on May 17.
