Ex-NFL Player, West PA Native Guilty In Pumpkin Thowing Incident

GREENSBURG, PA — Former NFL wide receiver and Western Pennsylvania football player Terrelle Pryor pleaded guilty Monday to criminal mischief charges related to a pumpkin throwing incident last fall. Pryor, 31, a onetime Jeanette High School football star, was fined $300. Simple assault and harassment charges were dismissed. According to police, Pryor and his girlfriend, Shalaya Briston, got into an argument via text messaging while she was at a bar. Briston told police that when she returned home, Pryor shoved her, slapped her in the face and threw a deck chair at her. The guilty plea involved Pryor throwing pumpkins at Briston's Mercedes Benz as she fled the scene, damaging the vehicle. Pryor was a star quarterback at Jeannette and played for Ohio State in college. His NFL career, in which he primarily played wide receiver, included stints with the Oakland Raiders, Cleveland Browns, Washington Redskins, New York Jets and Buffalo Bills.
