PHILADELPHIA, PA — Three people were killed early Tuesday morning when a speeding car crashed into a SEPTA station, decapitating one victim and crushing another, according to a FOX 29 report.
The crash happened around 2:45 a.m. in Philadelphia's Kensington neighborhood, police told FOX 29. An officer who witnessed the speeding car before the crash said it was traveling at least 100 mph, FOX 29 reported.
Police said the car jumped the curb near the Allegheny Avenue SEPTA station and struck a metal turnstile before hitting three pedestrians, FOX 29 reported.
The vehicle caused a crack in the building and did "severe damage," according to NBC Philadelphia.
The driver and two pedestrians were pronounced dead at the scene. A third pedestrian, a 53-year-old man, was taken to the hospital for treatment, according to reports.
