Press release from Meridian Community College:
May 9, 2022
Fifty-two Meridian Community College Associate Degree Nursing students received their nursing pin during a special ceremony held just a few hours before receiving their associate of applied science degrees.
Since the beginning of formal nursing education, the nursing pin has been worn as a part of a nurse's uniform to symbolize the school's standards where the nurse was educated. The program's founders designed MCC's pin for the first graduating class in 1967; it is encircled with gold and has green and white bands.
The May 6 ceremony marked the 91st class.
