JOLIET, IL — A 24-year-old Joliet man is now in the Will County Jail after he attacked a 44-year-old woman who got mad at him because he wasn't cleaning his room, according to Joliet police. Officers called to the east-side house hauled away Jonathan Navarro in handcuffs and charged him with committing domestic battery. Monday's domestic disturbance happened around 2:10 p.m. in the 200 block of Joliet's Fourth Avenue. Joliet police say Navarro had struck the woman while at the residence. "Further investigation determined that during an argument over Navarro cleaning his room, Navarro struck the victim with a broom handle and his fists," police spokesman Dwayne English announced. "Officers contacted Navarro at the residence and placed him into custody without incident." Navarro was booked into the Will County Jail around 3:30 p.m. His bail hearing will take place on Tuesday.
