SOUTH ST. PAUL, MN — A 17-year-old was killed in a shooting Sunday night in South St. Paul, the South St. Paul Police Department said in a news release. The fatal shooting was not a random incident and there is no imminent threat to the public, police said. Just before 11 p.m. Sunday, police were called to Conver Avenue on a report of shots fired, authorities said. When officers arrived, they found the 17-year-old laying in the road with multiple gunshot wounds in his upper torso, according to police. Despite emergency medical aid, the boy was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said. The South St. Paul Police Department said it is working with the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension and the Hennepin County Medical Examiner's Office to investigate the shooting. No additional information is available at this time, police said.
