Updated Tuesday at 9:05 a.m.: Lucy Karanja has been found safe and is with family, the El Cerrito Police Department said Tuesday in an 8:50 a.m. alert. The agency thanked the public in helping locate the missing Albany woman. EL CERRITO, CA — Authorities are asking for the public's help locating a missing Albany at-risk woman last seen early Monday afternoon in El Cerrito, police said. Lucy Karanja, 59, was last seen at around 12:30 p.m. near the 1200 block of Liberty Street, the El Cerrito Police Department said. Karanja suffers from early dementia, according to police. She is a 5-foot-2 black woman who weighs 180 pounds and has black hair and brown eyes, police said. Karanja wears her hair in shoulder length braids. She was last seen wearing a red and yellow floral print dress. Anyone with information about Karanja's whereabouts is asked to contact their local authorities or Detective John Whitney at the El Cerrito Police Department at 510-215-4420.
