QUINTON, AL — A Walker County volunteer firefighter has been charged with a felony after he was accused of starting a brush fire and then responding in his official capacity. The Alabama Fire Marshal's Office says Rodney Olin Morgan, 47, has been charged in connection with a woods fire set on March 6 at 1120 River Road in Quinton in southeastern Walker County. State investigators believe that Morgan — a captain with the Yerkwood Volunteer Fire Department — was responsible for the fire, then responded to the blaze as a member of the department.
