Description
The Kelly Family is celebrating 84 years and 5 generations of providing their own and locally grown produce, flowers, and delicious baked goods.
It all started back in 1936 when they erected a make shift roadside stand that consisted of an old door for a table that was laid across two crates to display that days picking of tomatoes, cukes, peppers, beans, squash, corn, melons, and fresh cut flowers.
Every year since then they have been opening up the beginning of April, or May, and ending the season selling fresh cut Christmas Trees and wreaths. Loyal customers and new faces pop in on a daily basis Monday-Sunday between 7am-7pm to pick up what they need for the day, say hi, and do a little chit chatting.
While you're there it's hard to miss the "Sweets Table", an array of delicious confections prepared by a local bakery, The Boston Tea Cake Company, Ltd(www.bostonteacakes.com), purveyors of gourmet treats that have the "WOW" factor. When you want to make a lasting impression these will do the trick. Also, check out their jumbo braided Cinnamon Bread. The aroma will attract you and the flavor will amaze you. Oooo la la! French Toast never tasted sooo good!
Now featuring at the farm stand are whole, fresh roasted, coffee beans from Red Barn Coffee Roasters, just down the street from the farm, and fabulous frozen chicken pies.
