BROOKLYN, NEW YORK — Part of a $54.8 billion subway improvement plan will bring full accessibility to six Brooklyn stations, including a Park Slope station advocates where advocates have long sought improvements, the MTA announced.
Park Slope's Seventh Avenue F and G line station is on a project list released Thursday.
Senior citizens, wheelchair users and local politicians previously pressed for an elevator at the station.
It looks like their advocacy paid off — MTA officials plan to begin work on the Seventh Avenue station in this year's third quarter, a release stated.
That means adding elevators, ramps and other measures to bring the stations in full compliance with the Americans With Disabilities Act.
