Description
SARASOTA, FL — After abruptly shutting down a coronavirus testing site off Cattleman Road Sunday afternoon, the Florida Department of Health has opened a second testing location in Sarasota County.
The new drive-through opened at 5400 Bradenton Road, the former site of the Sarasota Kennel Club, on Tuesday. Testing at the site is free and no appointment or prescription is necessary.
Though it will be closed on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, the site will otherwise be open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. or until capacity has been reached.
The other testing site in the county is the Robert L. Taylor Community Complex at 1845 34th Street in Sarasota. This site will also be closed Dec. 24 and 25 for the holidays. Otherwise, testing takes place at the site seven days a week from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. or until capacity is reached. No appointment is required.
