Looking for a new home

Description
We are looking for a new home for our dog Palmer. We love Palmer and hate to give him up but we just had a new baby and he isn't doing great with the transition. Palmer is a fun loving dog. Loves to run, go on hikes, swim, play, and snuggle when it is all said and done. Has a great mix of play time and rest time. Fully house trained and can be home for 8-10 hours at a time while we are at work with no issues. He loves to play with other dogs at the dog park and in our back yard and dog parks. We just can't spend as much time with him as he needs or deserves and hope someone else can. When we first got him around 5 years ago, he started to show a little aggression to new people after a few months. We immediately got him in training, and he did really well to get over his fear/aggression towards new people. Now he typically does fine with people outside of the house and hasn't shown any real issues with people in a few years. He is protective of the house and is wary of new people but once he warms up to you, he is the sweetest. He is very smart and remembers 'his people' and is completely normal and loving with the people he gets comfortable with, he just needs to warm up to them. We love Palmer and hate to give him up. He is good 99.9% of the time, but the.1% when he isn't, is just too risky for us with a new baby who is going to be walking soon. He loves to play with other dogs at the dog park and in our back yard but has had a few run ins with certain dogs in the past so he will need to be supervised. He is not a set it and forget it dog, but otherwise, he really is a joy to have around. Palmer would do well with a person/people who don't have kids, and could be with another dog. He is an 'only child' but does love other dogs and we have had 'sleepovers' with some of his buddies in the past. Besides the two issues above, he really is an easy dog to own. Needs a little exercise each day, but then will lounge and relax with you if you want, or be able to run all day if you want to do that! We hope someone will be able to give Palmer the home that he deserves where he can be the center of attention and with people who have the time to devote to him. We are heartbroken to have to make this choice because we love him dearly, but he deserves to be with people who can give him the time and energy he deserves. Happy to discuss any questions further and tell you more about him, please reach out if you have any questions. Thank you. Adoption Fee of $75 which will be donated to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA)
