We are a non-profit that produces Open Source software and hardware for Ham Radio. We need someone to help us with our table at Hamvention on Friday May 20: 9-5, Saturday May 21: 9-5, Sunday May 22: 9-1, with 1 hour breaks for lunch on Friday and Saturday (bring it, the concessions are expensive and slow) and potty breaks. So, that's 18 working hours for $500.
We need someone outgoing who can look professional-casual (jeans are fine), stand up for the entire show, greet people and smile at them, speak a short pitch (we'll write it), give out our paper handouts, and explain a little about what we're showing (we'll do it for you until you've got it down). We'd prefer someone who is technology-literate, because we're showing high tech. We aren't looking for booth-babes (it's 2022 and they insult the audience) but that's how you dress and act, not who you are. You should bring a cell phone. Must be 18 or over. You need to be able to get to the Greene County Fairgrounds where the show is. Parking might be a problem, so being able to walk a few blocks would help.
Our table will show interesting high-tech stuff: video of a satellite rocket engine, software and hardware for ham radio, radios we've modified and how we do it. We're pitching for new members.
We have two people there who will be in the booth with you part of the time and available on the phone or text for any question. We want to be able to see the show instead of being tied to the booth full-time, so we're hiring you. Please don't apply if there's a chance you won't show up.
