Description
Thirty-something teacher here. I'm an experienced albeit currently inactive multi-instrumentalist looking for musicians interested in working up to performing bars and other gigs. From 2010 to 2015 I led a bluegrass band in eastern Washington that played just over 200 bar and wedding gigs in that time. I've also played in jazz combos, a grateful dead cover band, and a psychedelic rock band. Having just moved back to my hometown, I'd like to get back to it. I'm musically literate, as I studied jazz saxophone through grad school, but my primary instruments are mandolin and electric baritone mandolin (approximately guitar range, with the lowest string a minor third above guitar's low E). I have pretty broad musical tastes, and could be happy playing anything from straight ahead bluegrass to Honky Tonk to Herbie Hancock or Foo Fighters, and I'm also down for Simon and Garfunkel or Milk-Carton Kids style duets, which totally depends on personnel. I have my own PA system and a condenser mic suitable for acoustic gigs, etc. If it matters, some of my favorite musicians include Tony Rice, Neil Young, Chris Thile, Tom Waits and Gillian Welch. I'm not set on any one instrument but I'd really like to connect with people of similar musical tastes and an interest in performing.
