Looking to hire an event coordinator intern to assist with organizing, planning, and executing a non-profit charity event in Anchorage on July 31st, 2022.
This event be open to the public from 10am to 10pm, and will feature:
• musical and comedy performances
• wellness speakers
• a community art project
• food trucks
• local Alaskan vendors
Ideal for students focusing in: Communications, Public Relations, Political Science, Criminal Justice, Anthropology, Journalism, and Business Management, Event Management
Must be available one to two days a week for the next 12 weeks to work with Creative Director to accomplish outreach, booking, and permitting benchmarks in order to make this event as successful as possible.
Pre-event tasks include, but are not limited to:
• Vendor Outreach and Cold Calls
• Event Progress Report Emails
• Equipment Rental Bookings and Payments
• Talent Scouting and Booking
• Permit Filing and City Relation Management
• Food Truck Booking
• Budgeting and Tracking Accounts Payable/Receivable
• Volunteer Enrollment and Coordination
Weekend of event tasks include but are not limited to:
• Overseeing the tent set-up and assembly
• Leading the volunteers by assigning them posts/tasks throughout the day
• Maintaining performance schedule to ensure a smooth transition between all performance acts
• Post-show clean-up and breakdown
• Returning rental equipment if necessary
Length of Contract:
Immediate start, with approx. 48-96 total hours of work spread across the next 12 weeks (5-10 hours per week)
Required Skills and Qualifications:
• Outgoing and upbeat personality
• Comfortable with making professional phone calls and emails
• Excellent time management skills
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
• Experience using basic functions in Excel
• Graphic design experience with Canva and ProCreate
