Rehoming 2 Parakeets

Description

We are looking to rehome a pair of parakeet brothers, approximately 4 years old. My daughter adopted this pair a couple years ago. She really enjoyed them, but has decided that she is not really a bird person and it’s time to find a new home for them now that college is around the corner. We are asking for a $60 rehoming fee to make sure they go to a good home. They come with all of their stuff including: a large cage, a tree, food and treats, food and water silos, and toys. Note: These birds are now use to their tree and freedom, so they independently fly into the cage from the tree when they want to eat or drink water. (Before we got the tree, we had just a perch outside the cage that they would fly to. In the evening, they would go on my daughter’s hand and she could put them in the cage. After they ate in the morning, she would let them out of their cage. ) The new adopters would need to pick the birds up Sunday, May 22 so my daughter could thoroughly clean the cage on Saturday and put them in at night when they are sleepy. We’d recommend that you keep the birds in their cage the first few weeks as they get use to their new surroundings. If you let them out and the tree is near the cage, they most likely fly to the tree. In general, they will fly to the highest perch they can find when they are startled. If you put anything new in the tree or in their cage, they will avoid it for a couple of weeks until they are used to it.
