Summary of the main function/purpose of the position: Dedicated to ensuring that the emergency shelter and childcare building where survivors are served is safe, clean and properly maintained. II. Principal duties/responsibilities: Responsible for cleaning the emergency shelter and childcare building where survivors are served so that areas are well-organized, clean and tidy (93%): • Clean floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming (50%) • Gather and empty trash in common areas, restrooms, break rooms, children’s areas, dining rooms, kitchen (20%) • Clean and supply public restrooms and supply resident restrooms (6%) • Clean main and side dining areas to include: chairs, tables, serving line, counter tops, and front and inside of refrigerators and microwaves that survivors use (10%) • Assist kitchen staff with deep cleaning of cooking area at least once a month (1%) • Fill cleaning liquids for survivors to use on a regular basis (3%) • Other occasional cleaning duties as assigned (3%) Responsible for participating in and completing all required opportunities for continuing education (7%) • Complete the required 30-hour Core Competency training as mandated by law, and all other trainings as required by the agency (3%) • Ensure all mandatory training requirements are up to date per agency policy (2%) • Attend all mandatory agency and Facilities department staff meetings (2%) III. Accountability: Areas in which the position is accountable/responsible: Quality Control: Ensures all areas are kept in a clean and orderly condition. Educational and/or equivalence in experience requirements: High school or equivalent. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Specialized or technical educational requirements: OSHA training cleaning methods cross contamination in a kitchen and bathroom, and spill containment. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Certification or licensing requirements: • Valid Florida driver’s license, acceptable Motor Vehicle Report, active automobile insurance and dependable transportation is required. • Requires 24-hour FCADV Core Competency training and additional 6 hours to qualify for Privilege status. • Requires ongoing 16-hours of FCADV related training after the first year, including ongoing training specific to cleaning methods VII. Specialized equipment or machines used in the course of the duties of the position. • Vacuum, cleaning items, upholstery cleaner. VIII. Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This position requires using hands, walking frequently, climbing stairs, stopping, bending, stretching, pushing and pulling up to 40 pounds. Vision and talking/hearing is required most of the time. Work Environment: The environment is typically in an office setting with moderate noise. There is occasional exposure to the outdoors when transporting individuals.
