Oyster Bay Man Struck By SUV In Suffolk County

HOLBROOK, NY – A 31-year-old Oyster Bay man was seriously injured after being struck by an SUV in Holbrook Monday evening. A 62-year-old Mount Sinai woman was driving 2012 Nissan Rogue northbound on Coates Avenue when her vehicle struck Joseph Zuniga, who was in the roadway in front of 1135 Coates Ave. at 6:14 p.m., police said. Zuniga was taken via Holbrook Ambulance to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of serious, but non-life threatening injuries. The driver was not injured. No criminal charges were filed. The vehicle was impounded for a safety check. Detectives are asking anyone with information on this crash to call the Fifth Squad at 631-854-8552.
