JOB TITLE: Roller Operator LOCATION: Billings, MT STATUS: Hourly/non-exempt Job Description: Operate equipment to apply asphalt to road beds, parking lots, airport runways and taxiways and private driveways. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Operate equipment safely and efficiently by following patterns to properly compact and finish asphalt material from paver. • Understanding of all aspects the paving industry including preparatory work, grades, drainage, paving patterns, aggregate size, job specifications, oil consistencies, compaction and other details related to asphalt paving. • The operator is responsible for the efficient working condition of the equipment and is expected to perform minor servicing and maintenance or refer major problems to the supervisor. Qualification/Requirement • One to two years related asphalt and road construction experience preferred. • Class A CDL a plus. • Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions including heat, cold, wind, rain, and dusty environments. • Must be willing to travel and work away from home when required. • Be willing to work overtime, nights and weekends when necessary. • Must have strong work ethic • Ability to work in a team setting. • Communication skills; Ability to communicate with supervisors, co-workers, contractors and the general public in a courteous, professional manner at all times. • Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures. • Must have a valid driver’s license NOTE This is not necessarily an exhaustive list of responsibilities, skills, duties, requirements, efforts, or working conditions associated with the job.
