Description

Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of several buildings and assisting with a variety of semi-skilled manual work in the maintenance, repair and energy management of church and other parish buildings. • Basic knowledge of plumbing and electrical work and some familiarity with boilers. Maintains works area, including tools and equipment, in clean and orderly condtion • Monitors all alarms and safety hazards and takes remedial action to ensure correction…Responds to security alarm calls • Performs and assists with snow removal, and salting • Maintains grounds, cuts grass, picks up branches, debris and garbage, cleans drains, trims bushes, as needed • Removes garbage from all offices and buildings • Sweeps and mops floors and stairwells, Dusts, Vacuums, strips and waxes floors as needed • Cleans all bathrooms which includes filling unused toilets with water to stop gases from dispensing into the air; and replenishes supplies of paper towels, toilet tissue and soap • Cleans glass doors and windows • Checks buildings, grounds and facilities for damage, malfunctions, etc. on a regular basis • Keeps supply room and slop rooms near and orderly • Keep outside doorways & hallways clean • Maintains security by opening & locking parish buildings • Constantly maintains high performance standards at work with regard to personal behavior and interactions with staff, community members and outside organizations. • Be present and assist at our parish fundraisers, as needed bility to make routine repairs and adjustments to variety of equipment • Ability to understand and follow routine and written instructions • Ability to get along well with others; industrious and dependable • Must have automobile and New York State Driver's license in good standing
