For more information please call 828-254-6141 ext. 5386 Position Summary: This position is looking for an experienced candidate who will be responsible for clearing, trimming, and removing trees and tree limbs in or around power utility lines. Must have experience climbing and operating hand tools, chainsaws, chippers, and bucket lifts. • Climbs poles or rides in bucket to trim or remove trees and tree limbs. • Effectively use a chainsaw to cut brush, limbs, stumps to perform removal. • Utilize knowledge of arboriculture techniques to perform work safely and effectively without damaging the integrity of the plant. • Perform duties with extreme focus on safety as it pertains to performing work near energized conductors. • Load debris into chipper and haul any other branches and brush onto trucks as needed. Requirements: • Experience climbing with safety precautions as it pertains to maximum voltage of power lines required. • Must pass criminal background check and pre-employment drug screening. • Valid Class A or B CDL license or permit and current valid DOT physical preferred. • Safe driving record. • Good knowledge and experience safely operating equipment used in construction. • Must have a positive and cooperative attitude and excellent attendance. • Must be able to get along with fellow workers, other tradesmen, inspectors, customers, and the public. • Must be able to carry up to 50 pounds. • Properly use safety equipment and personal protective equipment. • Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of all types of hand tools.
