HIRING - AUTOMOTIVE INSTALL TECHS

BearCom is looking for installation techs to up-fit vehicles for Law Enforcement, Fire Departments, and other government agencies and commercial companies. Automotive or similar background is preferred but no experience necessary. RESPONSIBILITIES • Install various vehicle equipment. • Equipment being installed includes: Vehicle lighting, controls, sirens, various electronics, radios, antennas, GPS equipment, wire harnesses, center consoles, push bumpers & grille guards, partitions, seats, storage vaults, and much more. • Dismantle the interior and exterior of new vehicles (seats, carpeting, flooring, dash and interior panels, headliners, head-lights and tail-lights) • Install electrical wiring, connect electrical fittings, drill holes, soldering and perform all physical tasks associated with modifying vehicles. QUALIFICATIONS NO EXPERIENCE REQUIRED. Automotive related experience and other translatable skills are preferred. All techs will receive thorough training and work alongside an experienced tech. Experience in or knowledge of the following is a plus (but not required): • Auto Mechanics or other Automotive related work. • Vehicle Audio Systems, Mobile Video Systems, Vehicle Remote Starters & Security Systems. • Installing Two-way radios, sirens, warning lights, and other public safety vehicular equipment. REQUIREMENTS • High School Diploma or Equivalent Required • Comfortable using Hand Tools, Power Tools, and other related equipment. • Employee will need to provide their own tools (new hires can get started with a short basic list of tools such as wrench & socket set, plyers, screw drivers, etc....certain specialty and power tools are provided) –Requests for additional company provided tools will be discussed with management and be provided if warranted. • Must be able to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; lift (overhead, waist level) from floor, frequently move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds, occasionally ascend / descend a ladder. • Willing to travel for occasional projects or when needed. Work is primarily performed at our shop, & most techs travel 5-10 days per year or fewer. Travel typically involves one day trips, but overnight stays may come up on rare occasions. • Must have a valid driver’s license. • Background checks are part of the hiring process, which may include a Motor Vehicle check.
