This fun and exciting job is an excellent opportunity to gain experience in the maritime industry and this course will set you up for success. You will learn about the job expectations and supplies, common knots used in the fishing industry, touch on common gear and tackle used on chartered fishing vessels, tips for working with clients, filleting techniques, and gear maintenance to get you prepared for a job as a deckhand. At the end of this class, you will receive a certificate of completion that you may submit for prospective opportunities and can be added to a list that will be shared amongst local captains and guides looking to hire deckhands.
