NEW YORK CITY — Rush hour straphangers had their Monday morning commutes delayed after a train's brakes were activated at Atlantic-Barclays Center, according to the MTA. Five lines — B, D, N, Q and R — ran with delays as crews investigated why the brakes activated, the MTA posted at 7:53 a.m. Two of those trains were rerouted amid the hubbub. The D is running on the local track in both directions between DeKalb Avenue and 36th Street, the MTA posted at 7:53 a.m. And the N is likewise running both directions on the local track between DeKalb Avenue and 59th Street. The delays for the B, Q and R trains affected both directions of travel, the MTA posted at 7:53 a.m. Southbound 1 trains ran with delays as medics responded to a request for EMS assistance at Times Square-42nd Street, the MTA posted at 8:15 a.m. And a signal problem at Hunters Point Avenue caused delays in both directions for 7 trains, the MTA posted at 8:09 a.m. Express 7 train service was suspended and some southbound 7 trains' last stop shifted to 61st Street-Woodside, according to the MTA.
