An interactive farm tour and workshop focused on soil health and fertility management, taught by Tommy Redding at Banyan Farm. Join Rogue Farm Corps for a tour of Banyan Farm and an interactive workshop about soil health and managing soil fertility for crop production. Topics covered will include: How soil is formedCharacteristics of soil, including texture, nutrient content, and pH How to test your soil and analyze the resultsCrop nutrient requirementsThis workshop is part of an ongoing Rogue Farm Corps' Beginning Farmer Internship Training Program Event Series which focuses on sustainable farming practices for the aspiring farmer. We are opening it up to the general farming community as space allows. Participants will be provided with handouts on topics discussed during class. COVID-19 protocols: Event participants are asked to wear a mask when using any partially or fully enclosed space such as a greenhouse, barn, shelter, or other indoor space with at least 3 walls for more than 15 minutes.Masks are optional when attendees are outside.RFC supports any participant choosing to wear a mask at any time even when not required.Please bring a mask that adequately covers your nose and mouth. If you don’t have a mask, let the RFC coordinator know so we can provide them.Limited scholarships available: If you identify as BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, a veteran, and/or low-income, you may select a scholarship admission from the ticket options to receive a full scholarship.
