Join us to build refugee welcome kits and help families establish a home here.
Welcoming the stranger - and refugees in particular - is a core value of Jewish Family Services, dating back to our founding in 1908. We work hard to envelop refugees and other New Americans into the community and provide them a foothold from which to grow – first through job search and family supports, and then access to career pathways offering opportunities for advancement.
As part of the family stabilization, we help refugee and New American families maintain safe housing, access healthy food and connect them with donated items to furnish their homes. One way to simplify the transition for refugee families is to provide a welcome kit that includes all the basic items to furnish and manage a home (towels, plates, cleaning supplies, etc.).
You are cordially invited to support Jewish Family Services’ upcoming Refugee Welcome Kit Event, hosted by our New Leadership Committee.
Let’s build some welcome kits to help newly-arriving refugee families establish their homes in Central Ohio.
Join us Sunday, June 12 at BrewDog in Canal Winchester to help assemble the welcome kits and learn more about how you can help support refugees in Central Ohio. *This will be a family-friendly event with light refreshments and activities.*
So, RSVP Today!
Help us fill the welcome kits by donating dollars or selecting items from our registry to have shipped directly to our office. DONATE NOW
