BURLINGTON, MA — The Burlington Police Department is looking for a man who they say attempted to kidnap a woman Sunday night. Around 8:20 p.m., Sunday, Burlington police say they received a 911 call from a driver who told them they saw a woman being dragged away on foot by a man on Middlesex Turnpike near Great Meadow Road. The driver told police they were on their way home from work when they pulled over to investigate the situation and call the police. Police say the woman was able to get away because the suspect was "apparently startled" by the 911 caller pulling their vehicle over nearby. The woman was found by police shortly after, but the man took off on foot. Police describe the suspect as a white man in his teens or early twenties wearing a black hat, black hooded sweatshirt, khaki/brown pants, and white sneakers. The area was roped off with police tape while emergency crews continued to monitor the active area late Sunday night. Burlington police are asking anyone with information to contact them at 781-272-1212.
