Takashi Murakami Flower Art Kit! 😃
May is Asian Pacific American Heritage Month. You can learn more here: https://asianpacificheritage.gov/
In this kit, we will be learning about Takashi Murakami, who is sometimes referred to as the "Japanese Andy Warhol." Murakami is a contemporary Japanese artist known for his "superflat" style, which incorporates elements from anime, pop art, and historical Japanese painting. Murakami's art is bright and colorful and often blurs the lines between commercial and fine art (much like Andy Warhol!). We will be creating one of Murakami's favorite images, the happy flower.
You will be getting:
One preprinted happy flower template on textured paper for a black glue resist painting projectPaintInstructions to draw your own happy flower on construction paperOne vinyl happy flower stickerHappy flower, Murakami, and pop art coloring pagesPick up times are 3 pm to 7 pm on Thursday, May 12th inside the libraryCURBSIDE pickup is also availableIf you need to pick up at a different time, PLEASE notify us BEFORE the pickup date so we may make arrangements with youDue to limits on our regular storage capacity, we will not be able to hold unclaimed kits
