Former Marshalls Location In Manchester Getting A Facelift

MANCHESTER, CT — The vacancy created by Marshalls moving to the former Toys R Us in the Buckland Hills section of Manchester is getting a makeover, but no formal applications have been submitted for filling it, planning officials said. The move was made three years ago this week, and over the weekend, workers were busy inside the retails space. Manchester planning officials said the property owner did obtain administrative approvals to make some minor changes to the site. However, they were nor "100 percent certain" as to "who the end user(s) are to be." In mid-May, 2019, Marshalls was one of two discount retail establishments that took the place of the old Toys R Us store at the Plaza at Buckland Hills. That left the Hale Road commercial space empty.
