Press release from the City of Littleton:
May 5, 2022
Oakley is a five-month-old foster police dog, and he spends his time with LPD Sergeant Krista Dimock. When Sergeant Dimock was promoted, she retired as a K9 handler, and her K9, Zan, entered into a cushy retirement. Little did he know that there was soon to be a puppy in the house.
Both Zan and Oakley are from Gold Coast K9 in Moorpark, California. Gold Coast breeds and trains exceptional police K9s. The puppies identified as the pick of the litter to become police dogs are raised by a select group of handlers. Sargent Dimock was chosen to raise Oakley from eight weeks old until he is one year. At that time, he will return to Gold coast K9 for formal training, and he will eventually become a sworn officer.
