Northport Lady Tigers Basketball Earns Suffolk Class AA Title

NORTHPORT, NY — The Northport High School varsity girls basketball team captured the Suffolk County Class AA Championship when it defeated Longwood High School 60-50. The Lady Tigers will automatically advance to the New York State Regional Final on March 15 at 4 p.m. at St. Joseph's College, where they will face the Nassau County Class AA Champion. In the meantime, the Tigers will battle Westhampton Beach High School for the overall Suffolk County title 5 p.m. Thursday at Ward Melville High School. Head coach Rich Castellano, assistant coach Ken Schultz and junior varsity head coach Perry Marinelli are overseeing the team's postseason run.
