EAST NORTHPORT, NY — Smashburger in East Northport has closed permanently, Newsday reported. The closure of the 4097 Jericho Turnpike burger joint happened in late August. The fast-casual eatery opened in East Northport in February 2016. Five Smashburger restaurants remain on Long Island: Lindenhurst, New Hyde Park, Hicksville, Port Washington and Wantagh.
