The author of, "Lancaster’s Hidden Treasure: The Rocky Springs Dentzel Carousel," will present a lecture on the Rocky Springs Carousel We are pleased to welcome Eileen Gregg author of, “Lancaster’s Hidden Treasure: The Rocky Springs Dentzel Carousel,” to Lancaster Public Library. Ms. Gregg will present a lecture on the Rocky Springs Carousel. The carousel entertained generations of families at Rocky Springs Park in Lancaster from the early 1900s until the park closed in 1983. After that, the carousel was relocated, first to Lake Lansing Park in Michigan in 1983, then to Dollywood in Tennessee in 1990.Efforts are once again underway to find a location to start up the historic Rocky Springs Carousel. Registration is required. We have lots of room to spread out in Bates Auditorium, but we’re playing it safe and restricting the program to 40 participants. This program will take place INDOORS. Masks are no longer required inside the library. We encourage all staff members and visitors who wish to continue wearing masks to please do so. We expect all patrons to be respectful of others’ choices regarding mask-wearing.
