Description

Press release from Johnson City Public Library: May 5, 2022 Fun fact: your Library turned 127 years old on May 1, 2022! To celebrate, we're throwing a big 127th Birthday Bash on Friday, May 13. Everyone is invited to drop by the Library between 4:30-6 p.m. for birthday cake, refreshments, and door prizes. (And be prepared for some other fun surprises as well!) It may seem odd to celebrate a number like 127, but our thought was, "Why not?!" We had planned to celebrate our 125th birthday in 2020 with several big events, all of which had to be canceled due to the pandemic. Library Director Julia Turpin says, "We were so excited to celebrate our 125th birthday in 2020, but 2020 had other plans for us. So, this year we decided to honor our 127 years of service instead." "We think 127 is still a number worth celebrating." she says, "It's an impressive milestone, even if it isn't a multiple of five!" This press release was produced by Johnson City Public Library.
