ELWOOD, NY — Congratulations to all Elwood-John H. Glenn High School students who were recognized in October and November! Esaia Bell, Connor Crowley, Kevin Golden and Jack Sikes were selected as October Students of the Month. Jenna Ban, Skye Callaway, Brynn Geard and Kayla Schwartz were recently selected as November Students of the Month. The school's initiative, started in 2019, honors one student from each grade who exemplify respect, responsibility and positive relationships, all of which are requirements of receiving the award. Students of the month are nominated by their fellow classmates, who often describe the recipients as students who always put effort into their studies, show a desire to learn, encourage classmates to do better and demonstrate positive school spirit and perseverance in the face of adversity. Those nominations are then sent to the All School Student Council, who narrow down the selection to two nominees from each grade. The Student of the Month Faculty Committee is then tasked with making the final decision.
