Press release from the Missoula County Government: May 6, 2022 The Missoula County commissioners are accepting applications for a regular member to serve the remainder of a term through Jan. 31, 2023, on the Elections Advisory Committee. Applications are available online. The application deadline is 3 p.m. Monday, June 6. The EAC consists of up to nine members who study the efficiency of the elections process, advocating for fair, robust and trustworthy elections. The EAC's objectives include listening to stakeholders, conducting sound research and learning best practices, and offering thoughtful advice and recommendations to commissioners with the goal of increasing public participation in the electoral process. Commissioners appoint five citizen members and one alternate, with one student member and one member representing people with disabilities. In addition, the Democratic and Republican central committees each select one voting member and one alternate. One county commissioner also serves as an ex-officio member. Meetings are held quarterly from 3 to 5 p.m. on the second Tuesday of the month in January, April, July and October. Additional meetings are usually scheduled before high-turnout elections.
