NORTHPORT, NY — Check out some recent police incidents for the Northport Village area from Nov. 16 through Nov. 23. The Northport Police Department posted the following information. All charges are accusations and do not signify guilt. Incidents A sick raccoon was reported on Avenue B on Nov. 16. Police euthanized the raccoon and disposed of it.A dog was hit by a car on Fort Salonga Road on Nov. 16. By the time police arrived, the dog's owner had left the area with the dog after exchanging information with the driver, according to a witness.A cat was hit by a car on Main Street on Nov. 16. A woman reported she struck the cat, and the cat was taken to the veterinarian.A fake Craigslist ad was made regarding a home on Waterside Avenue. The homeowner told police that someone made a Craigslist ad about his house being for rent. Police sent an email to the Craigslist legal bureau asking them to take the ad down. The incident was reported Nov. 18.A man told police that someone has been calling American Express pretending to be him in order to gain access to his account. As of Nov. 18, the man has not suffered any financial loss. The man was advised to put a freeze on his credit and look into purchasing a credit/identity monitoring service, as well as contact the Social Security Administration. He believes the other person has his Social Security number.A sick raccoon was reportedly stumbling in the road on Ocean Avenue. It was put down and disposed of by police on Nov. 20.Loud music was being played at a Main Street home past 12:30 a.m. Nov. 21. Police asked the resident to lower the music for the night.A sick raccoon on Clairmont Street was euthanized and disposed of on Nov. 21 by police.A sick raccoon on Sea Cove Road was euthanized and disposed of on Nov. 22 by police.
