DARIEN, IL – Several bright lime green ponds appeared on the east side of Indian Prairie Public Library late last week.
In a Facebook post, the library said residents should not have been alarmed.
"It's not toxic waste! And no, we aren't getting a (very) early jump on St. Patrick's Day," the library said.
Instead, the library was suffering a drainage problem that it was working on with the city of Darien.
"The city dyed the standing water, so workers can track it in the sewer system and get to the bottom of this," the library said in a post. "A big shoutout to the city for working with us to solve the problem."
