Description
Brand new Retro Soul/60s NOLA Soul and R&B based band needs some top notch horn players with day jobs and availability.
The band is comprised of Berklee/pro level guys, drums, bass, guitar and lead singer/songwriter... We are looking to play regularly and would love a dedicated horn section rather than mix and match from a big stable of Berklee types who are always gigging... Tough to keep track of, let alone book for gigs...
We have a nice chunk of very solid original material as well, so a dedicated horn section is key for consistency, as well as the crowd factor with people coming back and not seeing a different band every time...
Maybe you took a long break from gigging to raise kids or build a business or whatever and you've been woodshedding for years and you finally have the time to go out and play great music slaying crowds again, for fun (and pay) but not to pay the rent and everything else, or maybe you have that day job and just wanna play gigs and record as part of just one band you can be an integral part of.
We've got some of the best horns around to mix and match and sub with, but having 2 or three dedicated horns who wanna be part of a solid act you can take pride in and record with is our ultimate goal as we prepare to launch our maiden voyage next month or so.
The music is focused on good time 60s NOLA bar music and a little NOLA Jazz... nothing too complicated, more feel/groove oriented, peppered with some great emotional Soul and R&B with positive messages.
Singer has a raspy low voice with a raspy high end/scream (Dr John, Ray Charles, Tom Waits, Lee Alvin, James Carr, Lee Moses, Alvin Robinson, Howard Tate...)
If this sounds like your niche and you are looking to get plenty of solos, give us a holler!
*PEACE*
