Summary The Yard crew will work with freight dispatch and the Yard Supervisor on customer needs and requirements. Essential Job Functions The Yard crew is responsible for the entire freight yard and ensuring flatbed securement is complete. They will load and unload trailers safely in a timely and effective manner. Typical Duties • Communicate with freight dispatcher regarding freight • Supervise loading and unloading of trailers • Make sure proper OS&D’s, incident reports and other shipping documents are completed in a timely manner • Communicate professionally and effectively with warehouse crew • Check trailers in yard each night before leaving to ensure proper needs and requirements complete • Ensure the yard is clean and presentable for customers • Supervise and inspect all flatbed loads daily before they leave the yard • Attend meetings • Provide backup for freight dispatcher and assist customers when needed • Assist in reporting and other projects • Promote Sourdough’s Vision, Mission, and Culture statements with other employees • Other duties as assigned Competencies 1.
