PALM HARBOR, FL — The Pinellas County Sheriff's Office has arrested a Clearwater man who they said showed up at a Trump campaign rally wearing a rebel flag, Trump mask and carrying a sign decorated with Swastikas.
Deputies said the rally was being held at Nebraska Avenue and U.S. 19 in Palm Harbor when Scott Lee Rexroat, 59, of Summerdale Drive showed up swathed in a rebel flag and Trump mask. Witnesses said he began calling the Trump supporters Nazis and nearly caused several fights.
When a deputy tried to separate Rexroat from the Trump supporters, the deputy said Rexroat struck him in the arm and shoulder.
Rexroat was charged with disorderly conduct and battery on a law enforcement officer.
He's being held at the Pinellas County Jail on $2,750 bail.
