Essential Duties and Responsibilities • Maintain quality of product (i.e. smoothness and thickness) • Maintain and work with all asphalt paving equipment • Report quantities to supervisor on a daily basis • Ensure all safety requirements are met • Actions and decisions will impact loss of time, injury and damage, and has regular decision-making responsibility • Holds regular contact with other crews and supervisory staff • Must foster harmonious interactions and relationships and maintain basic standards of civility in the workplace • Upholds acceptable attendance • Is a productive team member that supports the team by going and assisting where needed • Complies with all applicable safety, environment, health and waste management policies and procedures • Ability to handle a great deal of stress over long periods of time. Adheres to the Code of Conduct, Confidentiality and Non-Disclosure Agreement, and Company Safety Policy Other Duties • Other related duties as assigned Working Conditions • Environmental Factors: • Great/Excessive: regular outside work, working around moving objects/equipment and traffic, uneven/slippery surfaces. Travel, weekend, and irregular hours are required. • Moderate/Average: work in extreme temperatures, inclement weather, grease and oils, dust/fumes, loud noises, electrical energy, and driving company vehicles. The routine shifts are average. • Minimal/Seldom: work inside, in confined spaces, around silica exposure, and explosive/toxic chemicals. • Physical Factors: • Great/Excessive: upright stationary greater than one hour, communicating, and visual acuity to operate equipment day, night, and in all weather conditions corrected or uncorrected. • Moderate/Average: using hands and fingers, reaching, ascend/descend equipment, bending body downward, moving more than 50 lbs. • Minimal/Seldom: remaining stationary greater than one hour. • Equipment, Tools, and Technology: • Operating a company vehicle, tablet and phone, equipment with low horsepower (e.g. skid steer, tractor) asphalt paving equipment including: laydown machine, transfer vehicle, and rollers. Job Requirements and Education • Over 18 years of age • Eligible to work in the United States • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation • Complete and pass pre-employment testing, including a drug screen and physical • High school education or GED equivalent • 3-5 years working with hot-mix asphalt Preferred Experience • 1-2 years in heavy highway construction industry • Ability to operate asphalt paving equipment Benefits: • 401(k) • Dental Insurance • Health Insurance • Vision Insurance • PTO and Sick Leave
