NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — Close to 12,000 New York City school students have been told to stay home and out of the classroom.
The city Department of Education says those students haven't handed in COVID-19 testing consent forms.
The mayor says the consent forms can help prevent outbreaks, and it allows for random testing of kids.
