Ola and Howdy, We are Nossas Novas, a Brazilian Bossa Nova and Samba Jazz band based in Austin, Texas playing classic bossa and samba music as well as Brazilian rock, funk and jazz. About us - I am Sonia, vocalist, half Brazilian, and original founder of Nossas Novas. Then we have Vijay on guitar, Eric on drums, and Christina on flute. The band has been around for a little over two years and has changed members since then a few times. One year being a pandemic year. We play about a gig a month, play about 2-3 hour sets, and practice on Saturday evenings for a couple of hours in South Austin at our drummer's garage... sometimes at Space on Manchaca if needed. All of our band members have other bands that they are in, consistently play music, and are really experienced/talented. We're also friendly! Some venues we frequent (Long Play Lounge, Central Market, & Sage Brush). About you - Punctual (IMPORTANT), jazz musician, with interpersonal skills. We're looking for someone who we get along with, who is fun to collaborate with on song structures, is flexible, down for a gig a month, up for some light promotional supporting, and is easy to get along with (especially with our drummer! :) If this all sounds good.
