This is updated information that I have previously posted an ad for. I have had many inquiries into Max; so, I wanted to repost the ad instead of answering the many emails individually. Max is a large, long-haired, black, German Shepherd. Max is very energetic. He is one year old, not altered, and UTD on shots. Max will come with a rehoming fee to ensure he goes to a proper home that will give him the training he needs and to make sure he won’t be used for dog fighting. See photo for fee. This can be negotiated for the right person if he is rehomed before May 22nd. Max does well with my children, except for jumping on them. He chases cats and eats chickens. He was raised on my farm, so he does not run off and is not scared of loud noises. He is crate, house, and kennel trained. He is not leash trained, although he is familiar with leashes. Since he still has puppy tendencies, I have not left him loose in the house by himself. He rides in the car well, seat belted in. He is alpha male and asserts dominance over both other males and females. He doesn’t hurt other dogs, as I have three other dogs; however, he will pin them and will eat before he will let another dog eat. He would be best left as an only dog, unless he gets training. He is very much a shepherd and a good one. He is VERY protective of his yard and his home. I didn’t realize how protective until someone came to look at him for his possible rehome. Max was very anxious and nipped the gentleman’s hand and broke the skin. Max will need training and someone familiar with the breed. He will make someone an extraordinary companion if given the opportunity and training. Unfortunately, I am not able to provide that at this time, due to life’s circumstances. If you would like to come meet Max, he will be in the outdoor kennel to prevent an accident from occurring. Should you decide to take him, I will provide a muzzle to prevent an incident from his nervousness until he calms down/gets comfortable with you.
