Job Title: Traffic Control Manager Status: Full Time Classification: Hourly, Non-Exempt Reports to: Field Operations Manager Apply Here: PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Supervises traffic control operations crews for maintenance of traffic control signals, signs, and markings. 2. Assists project management in planning and scheduling of traffic control resources. 3. Supervises and conducts inspections on traffic control related projects. 4. Responds to complaints and traffic situations to formulate responses. 5. Conducts managerial duties including correspondence, meeting with managers regarding scheduling and budget. 6. Checks and reviews need for maintenance of traffic control devices, assigns work, schedules jobs, and checks job progress. 7. Performs personnel related duties such as performance evaluations and discipline. 8. Makes field revisions to construction plans and submits changes. 9. Schedules, monitors and evaluates the work of Traffic Control / Signs personnel. Trains and supervises crews in the appropriate installation, repair and maintenance of traffic signal equipment. 10. Supervises work in progress 11. Tests equipment to ensure proper working conditions. 12. Responds to emergency calls regarding traffic control 13. Maintains inventory on supplies and equipment used to repair traffic equipment. 14. Picks up and delivers parts and/or equipment 15. Maintains records of work performed using daily TCS reports. 16. Enforces safety rules and performs duties in a safe and orderly manner, complying with all City and department safety rules. 17. Subject to after hour and weekend call out work. 18. Regular attendance at work and arrives on time. 19. Performs all other job-related duties as assigned or as become apparent. 20. Ability to get along with other employees and the public. 21. Schedules Uniformed police officer for dispatch 22. Completes no parks for the city of Seattle and tracks expiration dates PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS Ability to sit, stand, to drive a vehicle to and from various work sites. Employee will work in seasonal temperatures bending, kneeling, twisting and climbing. Employee will be exposed to dirt, dust, mud, noise, odors, and fumes. Employee can be exposed to construction and/or traffic hazards. Ability to lift 50 pounds occasionally. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: Knowledge of traffic regulations. Knowledge of Washington State MUTCD requirements. Ability to develop and implement traffic control improvements. Ability to read and understand materials including traffic control plans. Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing. Ability to write documentation of work, TCS reports, and material requisitions. Ability to get along appropriately with co-workers and the public. Minimum Education, Experience and Certification: High School diploma Current TCS card and Flagger card Minimum 2-5 years experience managing traffic control Apply Here:
