Description
My partner and I have made the difficult decision to rehome our sweet cat, Mochi. He is a 5 year old white cat who was born completely deaf. He is extremely energetic, curious, and still seems like a kitten most of the time. He REALLY enjoys people and is very social. We are actually located in NYC but are hoping to rehome him to someone Upstate who has more space for him or is familiar with deaf cats.
He is well behaved in that he is completely house trained, but he struggles with “yelling.” We took him to the vet, and there is nothing wrong medically; he simply hates that we relocated from a house to a much smaller NYC apartment! We think he is bored out of his mind here, and we are happy to travel upstate to rehome him to a better suited environment. Ideally, he can go somewhere with more space and access to nature!
From our understanding, this yelling is fairly common with deaf cats, so we are hoping for someone who knows how to help curb this, as he would make a great pet otherwise. Prior to moving to an apartment, this was not an issue. Mochi is also healthy, neutered, and up to date on all vaccinations! He does have his claws which we clip regularly.
Hoping to find him a great home with someone upstate who loves cats as much as we do! Thanks!
