Omaha's very own Mr. Sinister is now seeking a highly talented & motivated bassist. MS has been playing the Omaha music scene for over 10 years. Post covid, we have opted to focus on quality gigs at quality venues. We primarily seek out festivals, special events, private parties, street dances, etc. We limit the amount of bar gigs we book each year. We average 1-2 gigs per month. Summer months do tend to pick up and the colder months we tend to lay low. We are playing many of your favorite 80's hairband songs as well as a few 90's. What are we looking for? 1st and foremost - you must know the difference between practice & rehearsal AND be committed to do both. 2nd - we seek a talented bassist who is committed to learning the material as close to the original as feasibly possible. 3rd - seeking a bassist who can also sing! Need a lead vocalist on a handful of tunes. Need back up vocals as well. 4th - must be able to memorize your parts both musically and vocally. No ipads, props, notes etc. on stage. 5th - stage presence/image and the ability to have fun on stage is huge! 6th - no drug or alcohol issues. Partying is acceptable as long as you do your job well and its not a distraction. While we are open to learning new material, we ask that the new bassist come in with the notion that they are first learning our sets. This will help us transition to the stage much quicker. We work with pro sound guys and all have pro gear. We try to play close to home but do on occasion travel upwards of 2-2.5 hours. We have played the Iowa ABATE rally and that is a little bit of a haul. We make it worth our while.
