The official public premiere of the short film, "Lovers Leap, " written and directed by Allegany County-native Ethan Romaine. Doors open at 6:30 PM, show will begin at 7:00 PM. "Lovers Leap," tells the story of a teenager who sets out to win over his crush while on a float trip down the Potomac River, but when everything that can go wrong does go wrong, his manhood is put on the line. This romantic-comedy was filmed entirely in Allegany County with a team of Western Maryland and New York City-based filmmakers and actors . "Lovers Leap," has screened at 5 film festivals nation-wide, including the Maryland Film Festival and Cinema on the Bayou, where it recieved the Audience Choice Award. The premiere will be hosted by entertainer Sam Guyton and feature a special-guest blugrass performance by Into the Fog. The screening will be followed by a brief Q+A with the filmmakers and cast focusing on their experience filming in Western Maryland and the potential of growing film opportunities in the area. All proceeds will go back into the production budget for a the team's next film in Allegany County.
